Merchants Bank Announces Employee Additions & Promotions
Merchants Bank is pleased to announce the following employee changes.
Kathleen Eckhart was appointed as the Chief Risk Officer, responsible for the observance of risk and mitigation of risk for the bank. As a member of the executive management team, her areas of responsibility include review and compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and the bank’s adherence to Community Reinvestment (CRA).
Eckhart comes to Merchants Bank with over 25 years of banking experience. She most recently worked as VP/BSA Officer with Lafayette Ambassador Bank, having held various positions as Vice President, Regional Retail Operations Manager. and Vice President, Regional Branch Manager. Eckhart previously worked at KNBT in various managerial positions.
Mark Jobes was hired as the Senior Vice President/Chief Banking Officer. His primary role will be as a commercial lender and an active member of the executive management team. Jobes joins Merchants Bank with more than 25 years of banking experience. He comes to the bank from Lafayette Ambassador Bank where he held the position of Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending and previously as the Commercial Credit Manager.
Jobes holds an MBA from Lehigh University and a BS in Finance from Bloomsburg University. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Lehigh Valley program. He is an active member in the community where he currently serves as the Treasurer for the ArtsQuest Board of Directors and is a member of the LVEDC Board of Directors.
Todd Saab joins Merchants Bank as a Vice President, Senior Commercial Lender. He comes to the bank from PNC Bank where he served as the Vice President, Bank Advisor – Wealth Management.
In Saab’s 25 years in banking, he held the following positions with Lafayette Ambassador as Commercial Lender and Branch Manager. Before that, he was a Financial Services Specialist and a Retail Lending Officer during his tenure with Bank of PA, a division of Dauphin Deposit.
Kyle Labar was promoted to Assistant Vice President, Assistant Controller. In this role, Labar assists the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and Treasury Operations Manager in the preparation of financial reports and analysis. Labar joined Merchants Bank in 2013 as a Customer Service Representative/Teller. In May 2015, he was promoted to General Ledger Assistant/Financial Analyst II. Labar serves as a Financial Literacy Educator for The Children’s Home of Easton.
Labar recently earned his MBA from DeSales University where he previously achieved his BS in Business Administration and Finance with a minor in Psychology.
