Merchants Bank Donates to the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society

(Bangor, PA) Merchants Bank awarded the Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society (NCHGS) with $2,000 to support the organization’s school programs and related activities.

“The contribution that Merchants Bank provided to Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program is invaluable for our organization’s school programs and related activities. With this generous gift, Merchants Bank demonstrates its ongoing dedicated support of the communities in which it has served for generations. We are grateful to have them as such a devoted and philanthropic neighbor”, commented Andrew Zellers-Frederick, Executive Director, Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society.

Dr. Kenneth Wildrick, Volunteer Coordinator and Co-Coordinator School Programs, added “Merchants Bank provides such a valuable contribution to our museum and our community’s school children.  It is difficult for schools to find the time for field trips to visit the Sigal Museum and our historic houses.  Now they are able to take advantage of a wonderful hands-on learning experience”.

“Since 1906, the NCHGS has collected, preserved and showcased art, culture and American history made in Northampton County.  The county’s history is also a resource for education for area school children.  Our bank contributes to the educational foundation of our local non-profit groups, such as NCHGS.  We are pleased to be able to support non-profits who help enrich the education of area school children,” says Rocco Del Vecchio, CEO, Merchants Bank.
