Merchants Bank Makes Donations to
Local Food Banks

(Bangor, PA) Merchants Bank recently donated $1,200 to six area food banks in support of their efforts to care for those in need, especially during the holiday season.  As a community bank with roots in the Slate Belt, Merchants takes pride in helping local organizations that strive to fulfill the growing needs of our less fortunate neighbors.

Upon the suggestion of Merchants Bank’s Directors, donations were made to the food banks of Families First, Salvation Army, Saint Elizabeth’s/Saint Joseph’s Ministry, Portland United Methodist Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Benders Mennonite Church.   All are located in the Slate Belt area.

Anthony Biondi, CEO of Merchants Bank stated “The local food banks offer a salvation haven for those families in our neighborhoods who haven fallen on tough times during these harsh economic circumstances.  Merchants Bank is pleased to be able to share our good fortune to help those in need within our community, especially during the holiday season.”
