Merchants Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of Tracey S. Smith to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In addition to her previous responsibilities for retail banking and wealth management services, Tracey will now also direct the management of the Bank’s operations, as well as maintaining effective systems of management and control throughout the Bank. These new areas include loan servicing, credit administration, marketing and human resources. She will also provide leadership and coordination for the entire senior management team in meeting the Bank’s overall organizational objectives.
Previously a Vice President at Mellon Bank, Tracey has been the Senior Vice President, Branch Administration at Merchants Bank since 2002. During that time, Tracey’s leadership and pursuit of unparalleled customer service has greatly benefited the growth of the Bank.
Anthony Biondi, Chief Executive Officer, relies heavily on Tracey for her solid decision-making, leadership and process improvement skills. During the Bank’s recent reorganizational meeting, the Board of Directors acknowledged and recognized Tracey’s significant role in the implementation of the Bank’s strategic vision which resulted in financial success over the last few years. Tracey resides in Stroudsburg, PA and holds three professional licenses: FINRA Series 6, Life Accident and Health and Series 63. She has two Bachelor’s degrees from East Stroudsburg University – one in Management and one in Economics – and will complete her Masters of Business Administration this summer at DeSales University. Since 2003 Tracey has served as treasurer on two boards at East Stroudsburg University including UPI Inc. and the Mekeel Child Care Center. She also volunteers her time at various community events like Forks Township Community Days, Movies at the Mill, Nazareth Days and Easton Heritage Days. Most recently, she joined an ad hoc committee of the Salvation Army which is charged with implementing a new operational structure for the six local offices, improving the services delivered to the growing needs of the community.
